A system of voltage values or integers which represent and process data, digit by digit. The main system used is the binary system. Many electronic information technology products use such a system of notation.

Digital code makes communication from user to computer, machine to machine, and peer-to-peer as easy as speaking to someone standing in front of you and it therefore becomes the currency for the culture of the Information Age.
